Centenary Diamond,
The De Beers Centenary Diamond is a 273.85 carats (54.77 g) "D Color" diamond. The stone is the third largest diamond produced in the premier mine and the color is rated as grade D color by The Gemological Institute of America. It is the highest grade of colorless diamond with internally and externally flawless. Centenary is a modified heart shaped brilliant originated from premier mine of South Africa.
In its rough form, the stone resembles in an irregular matchbox with angular planes and the shape of the stone shows problems in cutting. Centenary was found on July 17th 1986 using X-ray recovery system. It is a 599 carats diamond which is perfect in color and one of the largest top-color diamonds ever found.
