Semi Precious Stone Chrysoprase Necklace
Unlike emerald which owes its
good-looking green color to the attendance of chromium, the color
of Chrysoprase is due to its trace amounts of
nickel in the structure. The nickel reportedly occurs as the platelets
of the talc-like gem
stone Willamette. Chrysoprase results from the deep
weathering and lateralization of nickeliferous serenities or additional
ultramafic ophiolite rocks. In the Australian deposits, Chrysoprase
occurs as veins and nodules with its brown goethite and iron oxides
in the magnetite-rich saprolite below an iron and the silica cap.
Healing ability: Chrysoprase
is the rarest member of the Chalcedony family that is found in
the U.S., Brazil, and Australia. Chrysoprase
is believed to prevent depression and also to
improve equilibrium, balance, communication, eloquence, hope,
youthfulness, and a higher consciousness. Legend says that Chrysoprase
is a protector of young animals and young children.
