Oct 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka's National Gem and Jewellery Authority is now ambitious plans to grow up gem exports by another 10% in 2007, thus growing revenues up to US$ 100 million.
Sri Lanka earned US$ 80 million from exporting gems during 2005. Gem exports as of August 2006 brought in US$ 67 million near the country. This is a growth of 27% contrasted to the same period in 2005
