At first glimpse, "Blood Diamond" emerges to be just another middling action/adventure thriller. But thanks to exceptional acting, great direction by Edward Zwick and an attractive subject, "Blood Diamond" rises above the normal action charge to something better and additional memorable.
The story takes put during 1999 Sierra Leone, an African country in the midst of civil war by a dishonest government and aggressive revolts over the country's diamond trade. We're told that millions of citizens are made immigrants by the war, many of whom have nothing to do with or have even seen a diamond.
