Gem Diamond Mining Company of Africa Ltd (Gem Diamonds) has recently announced that it has received final shareholder agreement from JCI Ltd (JCD) and Matodzi Resources Ltd (MTZ) for the further acquisition of a 76% stake in Letseng Diamonds (Pty) Ltd, the operator of the Letseng Diamond Mine in Lesotho (Letseng). Gem Diamonds now owns 76% of Letseng and the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho owns from the remaining 24%.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is eager to learn a lot and increase the further relations in gemstone field with Sri Lanka, stated Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mr. Amanullah Khan Jadoon.

International diamond cheat detained

KARACHI: An international fraudster of diamonds was detained by the staff of Anti-Dacoits Robbery Cell concerned in looting diamond merchants across world wide and recovered valuable stones worth Rs1.8 million.

Deputy-Superintendent of Police, Farooq, of the ADRC, stated that an search was transferred to him registered by Malik Arif Karim of Madras Jewelers, Boat Basin Police station and had given particular task.

Farooq further stated that during questioning, he got a tip-off that blamed Ghulam Mohiuddin was present in Pakistan and was beating near Shab Qadr, Charsadda District of NWFP. Acting on information he, along with his staff, conducted an attack and arrested Ghulam Mohiuddin. Diamonds worth Rs1.8 million stolen from Madras Jewelers were also recovered from his control on his indication from Lahore.
