Imagine a fairy tale scenario where you are accessible with a thousand rings sewn into a dress - and only if you can single out the real jewel among the dross do you get your handsome prince.
Martin Margiela is not a fashionable who dwells on romance. But the "ring" dress, part of his "Artisanal" line for Maison Martin Margiela, took the found thing to a new dimension. In a man or woman collection growing in complexity, the designer created Aran sweaters with tufted inlays of vintage fur, cut-out Western motifs on leather jackets, denim circles sewn like sequins on jeans and the ultimate Tinsel town party cover-up: a "fur" jacket created from gilded tinsel strings.
