A jewellery craftsman here has claim that a misty quartz mineral carved by him is the heaviest furnish gemstone in the world.
A craftsman Izzazuddin, with a jewellery firm here, has cut a 4000 grams smoky quartz from a 29000 grams uneven stone after effective hard work for one year.
Misty quartz, a half precious stone, is a brown visible quartz that is occasionally used for strange faceted cuts. The market for this stone is limited because there is partial demand for brown gemstones.
The partially precious gemstone cut and elegant by Izzazuddin with the help of his coworker Mohammad Mushtaq is 11 cm lengthy and has a radius of 9 cm.
'The best fraction about this stone is that it is a hand slice and polished stone and no appliance has been used in this work out'.
The price of the stone was more than Rs. 500,000 but he did not hope to sell it.
