Jaipur Jewellery Becomes Affordable

Due to raise of Indian Rupees against the United States Dollars, the precious and semi-precious stones which are been imported have now become much affordable. Most jewellery are imported from African countries. Nearly eighty five percent of uncut gems have become cheaper to import, and this has reduced the price of stone-studded jewellery. According to a jeweler, a 500 Carat necklace made from a semi precious stones such as red colored Tourmaline was priced about Rs 50,000 a year ago, but now the same piece of jewellery is available for less than Rs 45,000. Today the total value of jewellery and gems exports from the city of Jaipur is estimated around $32 million.
