A rare 5 ct vivid pink diamond was set for auctioned in Hong Kong on December 1st. the 5 ct vivid pink diamond was auctioned for a record $10.8 million.
The pink diamond set the word auction record for price per carat.

Platinum Aquamarine Bracelet
The Gemological Institute of America museum exclusively exhibits the “Best in Platinum” display for the public. The 17 award winning pieces selected from variety of platinum jewelry collections will be displayed on the show.
The exhibit was showcased by Platinum Guild International and it is the first time in US, it’s been shown together.
It inclusive of pieces from PlatAfrica design competition and the Aqua Collection and other award wining platinum pieces designed by Gurhan, Kirk Kara, Mark Schneider, Michael B, Tom Munsteiner, Danhov and Krikawa.
The GIA Museum will exhibit the “Best in Platinum” until April 30, 2010.

The best in platinum

Smithsonian Hope Diamond
Two of the world’s most famous diamonds will be on display starting from January.
On Jan 28th, At Smithsonian national museum of natural history, the 31.06 carat Wittelsbach Graff diamond joins its hand with 45.52 carat hope diamond. The museum announced that both Graff and hope diamond will be displayed for the public.
It is the first time in the half century that the wittelsbach gem is on public display and it remains at the museum until Aug 1.
Both hope and wittelsbach Graff diamond was well known to the public on 17th century. Scientist plan test in hopes whether it came from the same mine in India.

Wittelsbach Graff Diamond
In 1660, the wittelsbach diamond was first reported when Philip IV of Spain gave to his daughter.
In 1722, the diamond becomes the property of wittelsbachs, the ruling family of Bavaria.
The officials of Smithsonian museum have refused to estimate the value of hope diamond, by simply referring as priceless.
Two of the world most historical stones wittelsbach Graff and hope diamond is going to be displayed together which makes remarkable changes in the history.
