India demands Britain to Koh-i-Noor diamond


The Indian government has demanded Britain to return the Khoh- i- Noor diamond which was wrest from the Indian hands by British forces in the 19th century.
The Maharaja of Punjab in give the diamond as a compliment to Queen Victoria in 1849 following the Treaty of Lahore.The platinum crown includes other worthless gems, and when the Queen Mother died in 2002 the crown was removed from the Tower of London and paraded through London streets.
India says the British seized the diamond, owned by King of Iran( 1688-1747) Nader Shah and his descendents before decision its way into India.
India’s labors are in line with an global fight backed by the United Nations for the return of historic materials to several countries, including Mexico, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
But They said, the British High Commission in New Delhi has called the exclusion of the gemstone genuine and its ownership non-passable. The head of the Architectural Survey of India Dr Gautam Sengupta said, who is in charge of protecting the country’s antiquities, said if the country required the European museums to revisit its looted materials. In many of the museums would have to pull down their shutters.
