Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but its shiny rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors took middle stage at the state fairgrounds this weekend.
The Greater Southern Gemstone and Jewelry demonstrate wrapped up Sunday at the Mississippi Trade Mart.
Folks were able to slam for gold and precious gemstones outside. Inside, nearly 40 vendors presented their best works of fine art.
Jewelry made of precious and semi precious stones packed display cases, but figurines, fossils and tools were also for trade. It was also a time for vendors to balance notes and skills.
“When one person goes to the jewelry school, everybody is waiting to find out what they learned to do and they lecture the whole club so you can do as much as you want to,” said Vice President of Great Southern Gem and Jewelry Shows, Sharon McClanahan.
Totally 40 vendors traveled from Texas, Louisiana and Georgia to Jackson for the annual show.
