Sales of diamond-jewelry in the United States rose up to 6.1%, and reached $33.2 billion during 2006. These figures were stated by The Diamond Information Center. This is the fifth successive year that diamond-jewelry retail sales have risen.
The Diamond Information Center noted that US sales comprise 50% of diamond-jewelry sales worldwide.

LONE TREE - Police are hunting for a man who stole a diamond ring and ran from a jewelry store in Park Meadows Mall.
Lone Tree Police stated that the Bailey Banks & Biddle in Park Meadows was robbed on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m.
Police further said the man asked to see a four-carat diamond ring and then stole a three-carat diamond ring from the clerk and ran out of the mall.
