- Diffusion:

Diffusion is the procedure of color enhancing
a stone by heating the stone in the attendance
of iron oxide, chrome oxide or may be similar compounds. The
process colors the stone by infusing the exterior surface
of the stone with color. It is only functional to cut stones
as any further cutting will remove the color enhancement.

- Domed:

A convex shape like the outside of a ball
or sphere. This shape is frequently used in earrings, pendants
and also components of jewelry designs.

- Dull:

The term used to explain gems which
exhibit an earthy or dull luster, sense their surface does
not reflect light very well.

- Diamond:
-
Diamonds exhibit fluorescence of a variety
of colors under long wave ultra-violet light, but generally
bluish-white, yellowish and greenish fluorescence under X-rays.
Diamonds had a violet absorption spectrum
at 415.4 nm. Colored stones normally show
additional violet bands.
