Dieter Hahn is the owner of Philipp Hahn Sons (Ph. Hahn Söhne), the oldest diamond manufacturing company in Germany. He is a member of the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the diamond business.
Hahn has served in public functions for more than 40 years. From 1963, he was the German delegate to the International Diamond Manufacturing Association (IDMA), serving as IDMA’s Treasurer General from 1978 to 1988. In 1988, he received the title of Honorary Member of IDMA, following 25 years of service.
Mr. Hahn was elected to the board of directors of the Diamant-und Edelsteinbörse Idar-Oberstein, Bourses in 1973. He was elected as its vice president in 1982 and served as its president from 1988 to 2003. For the past 13 years, Dieter Hahn has served as Treasurer General of the WFDB and a member of the federation’s Executive Committee.
