Semi Precious Stone Gaspeite Earring
Gaspeite
is measured a rare mineral, being establish in only a few
localities, but it is becoming a well-liked mineral in the
semi-precious
stone markets. It is being used as a cabochon
in sterling silver gem
jewelry with such distinguished minerals and material
as turquoise, malachite, azurite, onyx and
coral. Gaspésie’s light green,
about apple green color is quite sole and not hard to mistake.
It real accents with stripes greens of malachite and
the blue green of turquoise. Carved material
is usually homogenous, but it may contain portions of its
brownish host rock which might give it a distinctive character.
Gaspeite is found as a secondary mineral approximately nickel
sulfide deposits. It was thought of as just a gangue mineral
by miners when it was encountered and typically placed in
the mines dumps or tailings. A gangue mineral is a mineral
that almost certainly contains the ore metal, but its chemistry
is such that dispensation it is either impossible or unprofitable.
Such was the case with Gaspeite in spite
of being rich in nickel
