Semi Precious Stone Morganite

Morganite popularly referred as pink beryl, Rose beryl, pink emerald, cesian beryl. It is rare light pink to rose colored gem quality variety of mineral beryl well known for its green variety, blue variety.

The gemstone morganite is the rare variety compared to other common beryls like aquamarine, heliodor. The common varieties of the mineral morganite are orange, yellow and pink. The red beryl known as "red emerald," is a very rare. Generally, Morganite is heat to remove patches of yellow and also to improve the color by way of irradiation. The refractive index for the gemstone is 1.57 to 1.58 and the Mohs scale hardness is 7.5 to 8 with specific gravity of 2.66 to 2.83.
